And you know what makes marriage easier? Marrying someone from a different culture. Ha!

But seriously, two people becoming one and coming from two different races adds another degree of difficulty to a marriage.

We knew marriage would be hard, but we weren’t prepared for just how difficult our marriage was. We loved Jesus and we loved each other, but that simply was not enough to solve the problems that came up. There were times we thought we understood each other, only to find out later that we did not. There were expectations that we quietly (or loudly) had that weren’t met. We tried to communicate our love for each other, but despite our best efforts we kept falling short.
