Back in 2015

There was a young white guy who wanted to meet a pretty young girl and marry her. He figured, “What better place to look than a college church?” So there he went.

At this church was a pretty Haitian girl, devoted to her studies. The man tried his best to get her attention, but to no avail. One day, in a stroke of genius, he decided to bring cookies to the bible study they attended together.

The girl happened to bring cookies that day too. But her cookies were not very good, and his were indeed very, very good.

The girl, who loved cookies, asked him for the recipe. Like a boss (and with a friend’s prodding) the guy gave her an ultimatum: “You can have the recipe if you go out with me.” To his delight, she agreed.

That day, Spencer’s desire to continue making cookies died. Fortunately, Shirley took up the cookie making mantle shortly after they were married.

It hasn’t necessarily been an easy road for the two, but at least they got the cookie thing sorted out.
